The sports of Greek

The sports were an excellent, important and popular part of life in ancient Greece. The most important thing is that the sports and the Olympic Games have use today around the world. In this essay I am going to show causes and effects of the sports of Greek.

Firstly Ancient Greeks believed that the gods gave athletes their courage. Every set of sporting games was dedicated to their god. The sports in Greek was created around 3000 years, was created thinking in god and to win cash and slaves, that was really funny to the rich people in this period of time.

On the other hand today not only in ancient Greece play Olympic Games, today around the world all people see and is present in the Olympic Games. We know that the Olympic Games was played there in this period because we have prove and the antecedents of this entertainment games.

In conclusion the sports in my opinion is a really good thing that we have since 3000 years until now it is impressive and we have to leave probes about our things because probably the new people want to know about us and probably they use our ideas.

Culture

Philosophy
Greek philosophy focused on the role of
reason and inquiry. In many ways, it had an important influence on modern philosophy, as well as modern science. Clear unbroken lines of influence lead from ancient Greek and Hellenistic philosophers, to medieval Muslim philosophers and scientists, to the European Renaissance and Enlightenment, to the secular sciences of the modern day.
Neither reason nor inquiry began with the Greeks. Defining the difference between the Greek quest for knowledge and the quests of the elder
civilizations, such as the ancient Egyptians and Babylonians, has long been a topic of study by theorists of civilization.
Literature
Alfred North Whitehead once claimed that all of philosophy is but a footnote to Plato. To suggest that all of Western literature is no more than a footnote to the writings of ancient Greece is an exaggeration, but it is nevertheless true that the Greek world of thought was so far-ranging that there is scarcely an idea discussed today not already debated by the ancient writers.
Religion and mythology
Greek mythology consists of stories belonging to the Ancient Greeks concerning their
gods and heroes, the nature of the world and the origins and significance of their religious practices. The main Greek gods were the twelve Olympians, Zeus, his wife Hera, Poseidon, Ares, Hermes, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Demeter, and Hestia. Other important deities included Hebe, Helios, Hades, Dionysus, Persephone and Heracles (a demi-god). Zeus' parents were Kronos and Rhea who also were the parents of Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Hestia, and Demeter.

Ancient Greek culture and current societies culture

The culture of the ancient Greek civilization has many aspects similar to aspects of the cultures of modern societies, as all we know, Roman and Greek ancient civilization are the roots of the current cultures so is logical that the culture of the modern societies are strongly related with ancient Greek culture. In this essay I am going to develop the similarities and differences between ancient Greek civilization culture and the culture of western modern societies.

To begin with, western societies’ culture is strongly influenced by many aspects of ancient Greek culture, aspects such as political structure and views, for example democracy; also the social structure is very similar but differing on the slave class, and the art of ancient Greece has exercised a huge influence on the culture of many countries from ancient times until the present.

To continue, religion is totally different between nowadays culture and ancient culture, ancient greek religion has twelve gods and the main one was Zeus, but in current societies the religions believe in only one god, and also the lifestyle and way of thinking of people is very different.

In conclusion, besides ancient Greek culture has strongly influenced current societies cultures, and has many aspects in which they are similar also are some aspects that differs between them and that is what make them different.
